Effective communication is a mandatory requirement of the IMO STCW Convention, SOLAS, ISM Code and additional international standards to ensure the safety of crews and vessels. A breakdown in communication can have far-reaching consequences for the crew, the marine environment, the cargo, vessel and the ship operator. English is acknowledged to be the common working language of shipping internationally.

OMTC has been awarded the status of Marlins Approved Test Centre in accordance with minimum standards agreed by the United Kingdom Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
