Course objective   Training of ship’s specialists on operation and maintenance of programmable logical controllers (PLC). 

Course content

• Introduction in technology and operation principles of PLC
• PLC configuration, block and functional diagrams
• Discrete and analog input/output ports, timers and counters
• System interface. Operation in network
• Basic ladder diagrams and control program instructions
• PLC application on ships
• Practical exercises on PLC software transferring and upload

Entry requirements  All course participants must have marine engineering education and practical shipboard experience
